When we look back at our early years of travel, it’s rarely the grand monuments that stick with us. Instead, it’s the textures of daily life—the way a person’s eyes meet the lens, or the way a century of heat has peeled the paint off a wooden door. Nicaragua has always had a way of wearing its history on its sleeve, and these two videos are a quiet tribute to that grit and grace.
In these clips, you’ll see the faces that made us feel welcome and the thresholds that invited us to look a little deeper. We wanted to share these snapshots of Nicaragua exactly as we found it: unhurried, authentic, and deeply human.
We spent our days documenting the "walls and doors" of the neighborhoods we passed through. To some, they are just infrastructure, but to us, they represent the boundaries of home and the passage of time. They are the silent witnesses to the conversations held on street corners and the families growing up behind them.
